Most straightforward dealings, such as a name change or a survivorship application, are registered within a few weeks of lodgement. Transfers involving a deceased estate depend on the grant of probate or letters of administration, so timing varies with the estate.
A title transfer has two parts: our professional fee, and the government charges. Landgate charges a registration fee based on the type of dealing and the value of the property, and RevenueWA may assess transfer duty depending on the reason for the transfer. Some transfers, including those between spouses or de facto partners of the family home and certain transfers under Family Court orders, may attract a duty exemption or concession.
